‘There will be no problem’… Wojciech Szczesny’s agent ensures reaching an agreement with Barcelona will not be hard | OneFootball

Although no one could have imagined it to be the case only a few months ago, Wojciech Szczesny has established himself as a clear starter at FC Barcelona after having joined the Catalan club as a replacement for the injured Marc Andre Ter Stegen.

Having made his debut for the Blaugranes only at the start of 2025, the Pole has been rather quick to prove his qualities to Hansi Flick, even though the German coach had another reliable coach, Inaki Pena, available to him.

Up to now, Szczesny has made 16 appearances for the Catalan side and is yet to taste defeat. Owing to his great performances and his having made a place in the hearts of the fans, there has been a lot of speculation about his continuity at Barcelona beyond the end of this season.

In fact, both Deco and Flick have given the nod for his continuity, and now, only the goalkeeper himself has to make a final decision in this regard.

Meanwhile, the player’s agent, Jonathan Barnett, also ensured that they would have no difficulties reaching an agreement with the Blaugrana club if the Pole finally decided to renew his contract.

As Mundo Deportivo has reported, Barnett made it clear that his client was quite happy at Barcelona:

“Tek is delighted in Barcelona, and Barça is very happy with Tek, so we will easily reach an agreement. When the time comes, we will quickly understand each other, and there will be no problem in renewing his contract.”

However, as was the case with Szczesny himself, Barnett also recognised that this was not the best time to discuss a renewal:

“We are at the most important moment of the season, and maybe this is not the right time to talk about it, but I insist that once we start working on it, there will be no problems, and we will reach an understanding very easily.”

With Ter Stegen likely to return to action before the end of the season, it remains to be seen how Szczesny’s role will develop in the coming months. But for now, he has left no doubts about his ability and Barcelona fans will be keen to have him stay with them more than just a single season.
