A look at a couple of more players who could depart Sheffield Wednesday with Carlos Corberan's Valencia eyeing Josh Windass.
Sheffield Wednesday are heading into what is expected to be a busy summer transfer window at Hillsborough with uncertainty in the dugout on the pitch and there could be a few players that head for the exit door in South Yorkshire.
Danny Rohl has been heavily linked with several clubs this summer already, including both Southampton and Leicester City, but the German manager is not the only one with his future up in the air.
It has been reported that former West Bromwich Albion coach Carlos Corberan is interested in potentially taking key attacker Josh Windass to Valencia this summer, with the 31-year-old under contract at Wednesday until next summer.
The Owls announced their retained list last week, too, with several senior players departing such as Michael Ihiekwe, Pol Valentin, Marvin Johnson and Stuart Armstrong; whilst Akin Famewo, Barry Bannan and Callum Paterson have all been offered new deals but are yet to sign on for next season.
As Wednesday prepare for a busy summer ahead of another Championship campaign, Football League World has taken a look at another couple of players that could depart Hillsborough this summer.
A player that Wednesday will not want to lose this summer will be 19-year-old Northern Ireland international goalkeeper, who established himself as first-choice towards the back end of this season, displacing James Beadle.
The Manchester City academy graduate, and brother of key Owls loanee this season Shea, joined Wednesday in 2021 and is very highly-rated by not only his club but also his country.
There have already been reports that Wednesday are bracing themselves for bids for the youngster this summer with the likes of Aston Villa and Liverpool said to be interested in the Manchester-born ‘keeper.
Charles is by no means the finished article just yet but he has already shown enough to garner Premier League attention and it would be a bit of a blow for Wednesday to lose him this summer.
One player that many supporters may view as less of a loss if he was to depart would be Canada international forward Ike Ugbo, despite EFL pundit Lee Hendrie urging Wednesday to retain his services.
The former Chelsea attacker joined the Owls on a permanent deal for a fee believed to be in the region of £2.5 million from Troyes last summer after an impressive loan stint in the second-half of last season, where he scored seven goals in 18 Championship appearances.
He failed to score in any of his 34 games in the league this season, though, and, joining for such a substantial fee, that is fairly deemed as simply not good enough.
However, he, as he did in that loan stint, has shown immense potential so even if he was to depart this summer, whether that be on loan again or on a permanent basis, that may come back to bite Wednesday.
Ugbo has previously played on loan for Barnsley, Milton Keynes Dons, Scunthorpe United and Cardiff City in the EFL as well as abroad with Roda JC and Cercle Brugge aside from permanent moves to Genk and Troyes.
