Augsburg's 1-1 draw against St. Pauli at the weekend extended Die Fuggerstädter's unbeaten run in the league to four. However, prior to this, the club's last loss came against Tuesday's opponents, Stuttgart.
More than 4,000 Augsburg supporters will be making the short journey to Stuttgart on Tuesday evening, and Thorup's plans well and truly revolve around sending the travelling contingent home happy.
“Our aim is to reach the next round, and we'll all do as well as we can to do so.”
In regards to team news, Thorup revealed that Yusuf Kabadayi will remain unavailable; the same can be said for winter signing Mergin Berisha.
Henri Koudossou is making good progress on his return to full fitness, however he us not an option yet. Cedric Zesiger will also return to the squad.
Thorup confirmed that Nediljko Labrović will replace Finn Dahmen in between the sticks after Dahmen has started all three games in the Pokal this campaign.
“I fully trust Nedo,” said Thorup, who added that his team will be prepared for penalties again.
“We have practised them, just like we did before our last cup ties."
