While visiting Glasgow Children’s Hospital, Engels and his Celtic teammates – Daizen Maeda, James Forrest, Callum McGregor, and Kasper Schmeichel – brought smiles to young patients by unexpectedly showing up with the Scottish Premiership trophy they secured last weekend on trophy day against St Mirren. It was Engels’ first league title triumph in his career.
Following the visit, Engels told Sky Sports that he and his teammates are eagerly looking forward to the upcoming showdown at the national stadium this weekend: “Yeah, I think we are looking forward to it a lot,” said the 21 year-old.

“We are training well, then recovering, so everybody is really looking forward to the next game. We all know that it is a big one, so everyone is focused on that, and hopefully, we can win another trophy.
“It would mean a lot to me, of course, especially in my first season with the club. It would also mean a lot to my family, after putting in all of the hard work that we have [with the team]to finish off with a treble – that would be amazing.”
Reflecting on whether winning a treble was part of his ambition upon joining the club in August, Engels responded: “100 per cent. You always try to win everything, especially here at this big club, where you need to win everything.”

“It would be nice to hopefully do it at the end of the season, but there is still one more big game to aim for. It was a big aim at the beginning of the season to get the three trophies, and hopefully we will have them in the end.”
