Chelsea midfielder Cesare Casadei has attracted interest from Feyenoord, Napoli and Torino in recent weeks.
Nothing has materialised so far, but that could change after journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reported that the Turin club will move for the Chelsea star.
The central midfielder is reportedly an ‘obsession’ for Torino, and they are eager to get a deal over the line.
The hold-up so far has been that Chelsea want more than £15 million for the highly-rated Italian youth international.
Torino want to pay a lower fee with a massive sell-on clause to entice the Blues.
Casadei has been surplus to requirements at the club since the top brass cancelled his loan spell at Leicester City last term.
The 22-year-old has only made six appearances for Chelsea this term in the Europa Conference League and League Cup. He has yet to play a single minute in the Premier League.
Casadei is a tall, technically secure, and intelligent midfielder who can grow into something special but needs game time on the field to develop.
Torino can give him that, and Chelsea can secure a first refusal on the former Inter Milan man as he struts his stuff in Serie A.
Chelsea do not need to go into the market for a replacement with several options in the engine room, including Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia, Enzo Fernandez and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
They also have Lesley Ugochukwu and Andrey Santos out on loan, and there are rumours one of them could be recalled as they have done with Trevoh Chalobah.
