Arsenal look to have received a major boost over Ollie Watkins as they push for a massive striker deal before Monday’s transfer deadline. The Gunners have seen an opening bid snubbed by Aston Villa, but the England international is now said to be open to joining his boyhood club. Arsenal should learn soon if they have won the race for Sverre Nypan amid fresh links to Mateo Retegui.

Tottenham are rumoured to have agreed a £50million deal for Mathys Tel, though Manchester United are still hoping to hijack those talks as they also finalise the signing of Ayden Heaven. Patrick Dorgu should complete his move to Old Trafford this weekend, while they could yet sell Alejandro Garnacho to Chelsea, who have their eye on Gregor Kobel amid a reported enquiry for Brighton duo Carlos Baleba and Georginio Rutter.

Aston Villa interest in Joao Felix deal confirmed

Plenty more twists and turns to come on the Aston Villa striker front too, which could yet impact the future of Arsenal target Ollie Watkins before Monday night’s transfer deadline.

Villa’s football chief Monchi has confirmed that the club are interested in both Chelsea’s Joao Felix and Marco Asensio at PSG, with Jhon Duran set to complete his big-money move to Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia today.

“They are two similar players and Unai’s taste,” the Spaniard said, per Fabrizio Romano. “Neither of them is easy.

“One at the salary level, the other at the cost level. But yes, they are players who attract Unai [Emery].”

Tottenham and Man Utd sent new Mathys Tel transfer update

It looks like Bayern Munich boss Vincent Kompany and sporting director Max Eberl have both been publicly addressing Mathys Tel’s future again this morning.

They insist he remains a Bayern player for now and as such could feature against Holstein Kiel in the Bundesliga tomorrow.

Asked about the reports of Tottenham agreeing a deal for Tel, Eberl replied, according to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany, with the following: “It’s also about generating transfer revenue.

“Mathys is an incredibly sought-after player. Whether it will be a loan or a sale, we will discuss it in the coming days and hours.

“Will we make any more moves? Regardless of the money, our squad is very well set up.”
