Bruno Fernandes took the ball around Danny Ward to complete a brace and score Manchester United’s fifth goal against Leicester City.
It has been a dominating display in Ruud van Nistelrooy’s first game as interim manager.
Leicester City have been no match for the Reds, who led 4-2 at half-time.
The scoreline now reads 5-2 as Steve Cooper’s side have been unable to trouble the home side.
United appear set to book their place in the next round of the competition after Fernandes made it 5-2 with a brilliant goal as he rounded the Leicester City goalkeeper.
His first goal took a deflection but nobody will be taking this one from Fernandes.

Van Nistelrooy will want to see his side kick on and score more to top off a brilliant display at Old Trafford in front of the faithful. It’s the least fans deserve after a shocking start to the season.
