Italy international Riccardo Calafiori was involved in the goalscoring action as Arsenal thumped PSV Eindhoven away from home in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie on Tuesday evening.
The former Bologna centre-back provided the assist for Arsenal’s fifth goal of the night, playing a neat ball across the byline for Leandro Trossard, who applied the finishing touches with a smart dink over Simon Mignolet to send his side 5-1 up on the night.
Trossard’s goal came in the 48th minute, and was already the second goal that Arsenal had scored in the second half. Martin Oegaard had already struck a minute earlier, adding to first-half goals from Jurrien Timber, Ethan Nwaneri and Mikel Merino.

This is the tie that Juventus would have been involved in had they qualified for the round of 16. The Bianconeri were knocked out after a 4-3 aggregate defeat to PSV in the play-off rounds.
The winner of the Arsenal-PSV tie will go on to face the winner of the tie involving Atletico and Real Madrid.
