Vincent Kompany has confirmed defender Sacha Boey could return against Benfica, but that more care will have to be taken over the fitness of Hiroki Ito.

Bayern Munich play host to the Portuguese side on Wednesday, looking to pick up a vital three points in their hunt for Champions League knockout stage qualification.

And Boey, who tore his meniscus in a 6-1 win over Holsten Keil in September, is now back among contention, the Bayern boss confirmed.

"Sacha Boey is fine. Maybe we'll get another player after the international break. Hiroki Ito has to be a bit patient now. It's bitter for him and for us. But he will come back strong and find his form."
