Trent Alexander-Arnold’s imminent arrival at La Liga giants Real Madrid is likely to spell bad news for a current member of the defensive ranks in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.

That’s according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, who points towards Lucas Vázquez as the player in question.

Reinforcements, of course, will soon be announced by Real Madrid at right-back.

This comes after Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold at long last announced his intention to depart Anfield this summer, ahead of penning terms with long-term suitors Los Blancos.

The plan on the part of those behind the scenes in Spain’s capital, it is understood, is for Alexander-Arnold to battle it out for playing time with the returning Dani Carvajal next season.

As much, however, leaves another Real star out in the cold.

As per Fabrizio Romano, ahead of the expiration of his contract upon the campaign’s close, long-time Blancos servant Lucas Vázquez now looks increasingly likely to depart on a free transfer.
