The Barclays Women’s Super League (WSL) has officially unveiled the nominees for the 2024/25 Player of the Season, Manager of the Season and Goal of the Season awards.

Player of the Season

Nine players from across the league have been recognised for their exceptional performances throughout the campaign. The shortlist is:

  • Alessia Russo (Arsenal) – A key attacking presence for the Gunners with consistent goal-scoring form.
  • Aggie Beever-Jones (Chelsea) – The young forward made a significant impact during Chelsea’s title charge.
  • Kiko Seike (Brighton & Hove Albion) – A dynamic addition to Brighton’s squad, bringing flair and creativity.
  • Mariona Caldentey (Arsenal) – Instrumental in Arsenal’s midfield, contributing both goals and assists.
  • Mary Fowler (Manchester City) – A creative force behind City’s attacking play.
  • Maya Le Tissier (Manchester United) – A composed and reliable figure in United’s defence.
  • Olivia Smith (Liverpool) – The Canadian international has impressed in her debut WSL season.
  • Sandy Baltimore (Chelsea) – A strong presence on the wing, adding depth to Chelsea’s attack.
  • Shekiera Martinez (West Ham United) – A standout performer for the Hammers in a challenging season.

  • September – Jess Park (Arsenal v Manchester City)
  • October – Johanna Rytting Kaneryd (Chelsea v Tottenham Hotspur)
  • November – Frida Maanum (Arsenal v Brighton & Hove Albion)
  • December – Alessia Russo (Arsenal v Aston Villa)
  • January – Vivianne Miedema (Aston Villa v Manchester City)
  • February – Janice Cayman (Leicester City v Aston Villa)
  • March – Grace Clinton (Aston Villa v Manchester United)
  • April – Viviane Asseyi (Crystal Palace v West Ham United)

Manager of the Season

Five managers are in contention for the Manager of the Season award, having guided their teams through notable campaigns:

  • Sonia Bompastor (Chelsea) – Led Chelsea to the title at the first time of asking.
  • RenĂ©e Slegers (Arsenal) – Oversaw a high-performing Arsenal side with attacking prowess.
  • Marc Skinner (Manchester United) – Maintained strong domestic form whilst also competing in the Cup competitions.
  • Dario Vidošić (Brighton & Hove Albion) – Played a key role in Brighton’s progress and stability.
  • Rehanne Skinner (West Ham United) – Guided West Ham to a solid mid-table finish.

Voting for the awards is expected to open shortly, with winners to be announced at the conclusion of the season.
