Referee Szymon Marciniak will take charge of Tuesday’s decisive Champions League semifinal second leg between Inter Milan and Barcelona.

This is confirmed by UEFA, via FCInterNews. Dutch referee Dennis Higler will be on VAR duty for the knockout clash.

On Tuesday, Inter Milan will host Barcelona in the second leg of the Champions League semifinals.

The two teams played out an instant classic 3-3 draw in the first leg this past Tuesday.

That result means that there is truly all to play for in the second leg.

At stake is a place in the final of the Champions League against either Paris Saint-Germain or Arsenal.

If Inter were to reach the final it would be for the second time in just three seasons.

In the 2022-23 season, Inter faced Manchester City in the final in Istanbul. That night ended in disappointment, as the Nerazzurri went toe-to-toe with the English juggernaut but nevertheless lost 1-0.

And on Tuesday, Inter will meet a familiar face from that match.

The referee for the 2023 final between Inter and Man City was Polish official Szymon Marciniak.

And once again, Marciniak will have the whistle for Tuesday’s semifinal clash between Inter and Barcelona.

Assisting Marciniak in his duties will be Tomasz Listkiewicz and Adam Kupsik.

The role of the fourth official, meanwhile, will fall to Pawel Raczkowski.

In the VAR booth, Dutch official Dennis Higler will oversee the match to ensure to correct any errors by the on-pitch officials.

Assisting Higler in his duties will be fellow Dutch referee Pol van Bonkel.

Inter will be hoping that the focus stays on the action on the pitch rather than refereeing controversy.
