The last month of April was a memorable one for FC Barcelona. Although they also suffered their first defeat of the year against Borussia Dortmund this month, April also saw the Blaugranes lift the Copa del Rey in a crunch match against arch-rivals Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, barring the draw against Real Betis, the Catalans also won all of their league games. They were able to enjoy this success despite their very hectic schedule. This hectic schedule meant even the fringe players got to play some minutes on the pitch, including Ansu Fati.

Pablo Torre getting no minutes in April

There were only two players who did not get any minutes in this month of April. One of them was Inaki Pena, whose case is understandable, as Wojciech Szczesny was the fixed starter in goal for Hansi Flick.

However, as SPORT has noted, the case of the other such player, Pablo Torre, is more concerning, as he could not get even a single minute on the pitch in the month of April despite Flick’s need to rotate his players. The Spaniard has not stepped on the pitch for the last nine consecutive games now.

The young midfielder is now expected to break this streak in the upcoming game against Real Valladolid, as the Barcelona coach is expected to heavily rotate his side ahead of the second leg against Inter Milan. Even if he does not start, he might get some minutes off the bench.

A season to forget for the youngster

But such a participation would not do much to change the very hard season the youngster has had so far. He did not play for a significant time between the end of January and the end of March.

This streak was broken in the 3-0 win over Osasuna, when he played the full second half. After that, he played only 3 minutes in the 4-1 win over Girona on March 30th.

With only one year left on his contract with Barcelona, this situation only makes the future of Pablo Torre at the Blaugrana club even more uncertain.
