Leicester City defeated Queens Park Rangers 6-2 on Saturday at King Power Stadium. The win was a team effort, which was pleasantly surprising to see this season. Though five different players chipped in with goals on the day. They are comprised of the apparently redeemed James Justin, winger Stephy Mavididi, playmaker Facundo Buonanotte and LCFC hero/birthday boy (man) Jamie Vardy. Centre back Wout Faes pelted in a rocket as well.
To totally review the game would take a while, with a lot to get through. So we've boiled it down from the many aspects of the side which were highlighted on the day due to so much action. Eight goals in one cup clash will do that for you. Focusing on the Foxes, of course, the following is what we picked up from Filbert Way. To be exact, here are three things we learned about the east Midlands outfit against QPR.
It was nice to see an under fire Fox have a good game. But the EPL is a different ball game. I'm just worried that Justin will make an immediate and typical mistake and his confidence will subsequently lapse. Again, no obvious replacement is available. Hopefully I'm wrong about him.
Bilal El Khannouss looks like the real deal to me. Hopefully we stay in the Premier League because this lad may be something special; hanging on to him will probably become difficult eventually.
Similarly, Buonanotte is seemingly heading towards being exceptional as well. The only problem is that the Argentine is on loan and every other top flight manager has probably taken note.
The King of the King Power just keeps going. The Foxes' very own Duracell bunny is a footballing wonder. Vardy the great scored again at the weekend.
This man has no age limit or restrictions. Usually top player like him have long retired by now. A few continue on but have to accept less challenging roles. They often move from attack to being a deep-lying midfielder. As veterans, some forward-thinking stars even end up almost in defence.
