La Liga giants Barcelona held a dinner on Tuesday evening, to celebrate the club’s successful campaign.
Four leading members of Hansi Flick’s squad, though, were nowhere to be seen, for a variety of reasons.
Barcelona will of course bring to an official close a thoroughly productive season this weekend, in their final La Liga fixture against Athletic Club.
The Blaugrana head into the matchup fresh off securing their third piece of silverware of the term, after adding a league title to their previous triumphs in both the Copa del Rey, and Spanish Super Cup.
As much makes for a domestic treble, and a hugely impressive first year for Hansi Flick in Catalunya’s capital.
Celebrations, in turn, have long been kicked into gear on the part of Barca’s playing squad, coaching staff and backroom staff alike.
After a title parade and trophy lift at Montjuïc last week, a more private affair was organised for yesterday evening.
This came in the form of a sit-down dinner at a local restaurant, with Joan Laporta and a number of board members also present alongside Hansi Flick and his players.
As alluded to above, though, not all of the Blaugrana’s stars were in attendance.
Specifically, the quartet of Ferran Torres, Eric García, Jules Koundé and Lamine Yamal missed out.
That’s according to the reliable Esport3, who report that:
‘Ferran Torres, still recovering from appendicitis surgery, Eric García, who felt unwell after the match against Villarreal on Sunday, and also Jules Koundé and Lamine Yamal, without there being a specific cause in these last two cases, were absent.’
