4 miss out as Girona name squad to face Real Sociedad | OneFootball

The squad of players called upon by the Girona coaching staff for the club’s penultimate outing of the campaign has on Saturday been unveiled.

And it features a quartet of absentees, owing to injury.

Specifically, Girona will make the trip to Anoeta on Sunday evening to face Real Sociedad without any of Miguel Gutiérrez, Donny Van de Beek, Bryan Gil and Gabriel Misehouy.

Thankfully for Míchel and the Girona coaching staff, their reduced personnel options to face Sociedad no longer come with the threat of relegation looming below them.

The Catalans, after a historic campaign in 2023/24, have endured something of a term to forget this time round, brought back down to earth following a series of high-profile exits.

Two wins from their last three, though, have ensured the club’s top-flight status for 2025/26, with Girona currently sitting 13th in the La Liga table.
