Carney Chukwuemeka is gathering interest from clubs in the Premier League, Germany and Italy but Chelsea will only entertain a permanent sale according to The Athletic.
The Blues had been expected to be quiet this month but their plans have seemingly changed given injuries suffered to Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile, with it now likely a centre back will arrive in January.
Outgoings are still thought to be the main priority with Chelsea looking to offload Ben Chilwell, although the England international’s departure isn’t looking imminent, whilst Cesare Casadei is expected to move back to Italy.
Chukwuemeka is another player who has been told he can leave the club, with the 21-year-old surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.
It became apparent in pre-season that Chukwuemeka wasn’t part of Maresca’s plans, but the midfielder stayed at the club in the summer and he’s hardly featured this season.

The midfielder hasn’t played a single minute in the Premier League, whilst he’s started just one game this season and that was against Astana in the Conference League.
Despite his limited game time Chelsea still feel Chukwuemeka has potential and aren’t believed to be open to a cut price sale.
West Ham are one club interested in the former Aston Villa man, but The Athletic have reported Chelsea have made it clear they will only consider a permanent sale.
The report adds the only loan Chelsea would consider is to Strasbourg, but all three loan slots to the French side are currently filled.

Chukwuemeka has a £40m release clause in his contract and given his lack of football the chances of the Blues getting that would appear slim.
If Chelsea want to move Chukwuemeka on this month they may to reconsider their stance or accept a loan deal with an option or obligation to buy at the end of the season.
