With their 4-1 win over Bayern Munich in their last UEFA Champions League match, FC Barcelona showed that they are ready to face the best teams in Europe, and are the contenders for the top trophies this season.

But this match went in the Blaugranes’ favor beyond just the big scoreline that the Catalans enjoyed over such a big European club. Flick’s men had already accumulated a healthy lead over the Bavarians in the first half, and this advantage allowed the German tactician to bring in some of the recently recovered players on the pitch to let them gain more sharpness.

Dani Olmo was one such player who made his return to the pitch in that match after Flick had not used him in the game against Sevilla. The La Masia graduate played for around a quarter of an hour against Bayern.

As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the Spaniard talked to TV3 ahead of the game against Real Madrid, and made it clear that he is fully ready for this match:

“I felt good, and the coach knows that, but it’s up to him. Whether I start or come on from the bench, I’ll work to give my best to the team. It’s a very important game, and whoever plays will be 100% ready.”

The former RB Leipzig forward was also quite confident of his team’s chances in this upcoming El Clasico:

“In a game like this, there’s no favorite. It’s the best match you can play in La Liga and in Europe. We can beat them with our approach, and that’s what we want to show.”

Olmo believed the team could improve even further, despite the good performances shown under Flick:

“His idea is very clear, and as players, we try to bring it to life on the field in the same way. It’s going well, but there’s still room for improvement, so we need to keep working. His relationship with the players is also key.”

The €60m-rated midfielder once again revealed the position where he feels the most comfortable:

“The position where I feel most comfortable is playing as a number 10, right behind the center forward. The coach knows this as well, but I’m willing to play wherever is needed to help the team.”

Dani Olmo had an instant impact on the team after his arrival, but this impact was cut short by his injury. Now, he will be looking to pick up the pace right from where he left off and hopefully will be able to contribute in the crucial game against Real Madrid.
