Noni Madueke has expressed his disappointment at Chelsea’s attacking performance against Manchester City on Saturday night.
The Blues slipped to a 3-1 defeat at the Etihad, meaning it’s now just one win in their last seven league games for Enzo Maresca’s men.
Chelsea slipped to sixth in the league, but they are still well in the race for the top four as they sit just a point behind Manchester City and Newcastle in the race for the Champions League.
The Blues made a brilliant start as they took an early lead with Madueke scoring his second goal in as many games, but the winger could have done more to prevent the City equaliser.
Chelsea had a very good opportunity to go 2-0 up but wasted it with Cole Palmer’s pass to Nicolas Jackson not good enough.
Despite having the likes of Palmer, Madueke, Jackson and Jadon Sancho on the pitch, the Blues struggled to create any clear cut chances.

Scoring goals wasn’t an issue earlier in the campaign, but Chelsea haven’t scored more than one goal in a league match since the win against Brentford on 15th December.
Chelsea face West Ham in their next game on 3rd February with the Blues desperate for three points as they look to get out of the rut they are currently in.
Madueke, who has been criticised by Maresca this season, was naturally disappointed with the result and believes a lack of sharpness in both boxes cost the Blues.
“It’s a very disappointing result”, he told Chelsea’s website.
“It feels hard, for sure. We went there to try and win the game and it wasn’t to be, but I think the manner in which we lost it was difficult to take.

“It was pretty even in the middle third, but they were just more clinical in both boxes than we were on the day, that’s why we lost. In terms of the attacking sense I think we were a bit of a blunt sword on Saturday.
“I think the game was in the balance at 1-1, for a long period. Then, once they get the second goal, it’s always going to be difficult.”
