AC Milan made summer contact over signing of 2nd Atlético Madrid star | OneFootball

The transfer team at Serie A giants AC Milan expressed a late-window interest in the signing of Samu Omorodion from Atlético Madrid.

That’s according to transfer insider Matteo Moretto of Relevo, who has confirmed that the Rossoneri’s shopping list in Spain’s capital was not confined to just Álvaro Morata.

Omorodion, for his part, of course took his place front and centre in the headlines across Europe this past summer.

As much came after the 20-year-old, fresh off something of a breakout campaign on loan at Deportivo Alavés, made his way into the sights of a number of leading continental clubs.

In the end, it was Portuguese heavyweights Porto who closed a deal for Omorodion, forking over €15 million for 50% of the attacker’s rights.

As alluded to above, though, prior to as much, one of Italian football’s top clubs also made known their interest in the player.

As per a report from Matteo Moretto:

‘Towards the end of August, Milan made an enquiry for Samu but the Spanish striker had already defined everything with Porto.’
