January has been all about sales for Chelsea, and a number of players are being very seriously linked with an exit.

Renato Veiga, Carney Chukwuemeka, Cesare Casadei and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall are among those being repeatedly and reliably linked with departures from the club this month.

KDH’s exit would raise eyebrows because he only arrived in the summer – so we’re even more surprised to hear another player who joined just 6 months ago being linked with a move away in January. Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany has tonight launched the idea that AC Milan are “now very interested” in Joao Felix.

The Portugal international has been a regular in the B team but hasn’t been trusted to step up to the main selection much, and in recent games has been getting just 5 or 10 minutes from the bench. We can imagine his frustration is building, but he must have known there was a good chance this would happen.

He’s just got to bide his time and wait for some injuries or a formation shift or a drop off in form to give him a chance. Is he really happy to

Those in charge at Chelsea had a chance to get to know Felix when he was at the club before, and he wasn’t too impressive then, at least to the trained eye. It’s crazy to think they were happy to bring him back only to let him go so soon.

We wonder whether we will see this move happen at all this winter. We paid more than £47m for Felix, and wouldn’t take a loss on him already. He’d only need to be replaced. And it seems unlikely Milan can pay us what we want. Why would we loan him out when he’s an important squad player?

Until we get more detail, this seems unlikely.
