Could this Chelsea star miss both Newcastle United matches?

On Sunday, a mass brawl broke out at Stamford Bridge (details below).

By the end of the 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest, a total of six Chelsea players had been booked.

This is the second time this has happened in only seven Premier League matches they have played so far this season.

Wesley Fofana and Marc Cucurella were among those half dozen booked yesterday, they will both miss Chelsea’s next PL match against Liverpool after the international break as it was the fifth of the season for each of them and now a one game suspension.

However, Dermot Gallagher has flagged up the possibility of a third Chelsea player picking up a suspension.

During his ref watch piece on Sky Sports earlier today, Gallagher revealed that he had been watching on Sunday what the VAR and his team were seeing, the camera angles during the Chelsea v Forest match, including replays of that mass brawl.

The former referee saying that the VAR and his assistants did not have replays to hand, which have now emerged, which clearly show Nicholas Jackson striking Forest’s Morato in the face.

Dermot Gallagher says that this means that retrospective action could now be brought against the Chelsea striker, as that footage and camera angles were not available to officials on Sunday.

An offence like that would bring a minimum of a three match ban, which if action is taken, would see Nicholas Jackson miss Chelsea’s Liverpool match and the two Newcastle United games, in the Premier League and Carabao Cup.

‘Enzo Maresca has played down ill-discipline concerns after Chelsea received six or more yellow cards for the second time this season and will receive a fine of £50,000 after a feisty match with Nottingham Forest.

The Italian manager oversaw a 1-1 draw with Forest as six of his players, including Wesley Fofana and Marc Cucurella, were booked with the defensive duo now suspended for the match following the international break away at Liverpool.

Chris Wood opened the scoring and Noni Madueke equalised in a hectic second half where James Ward-Prowse was sent off for deliberate handball to cut out a counterattack from Nicolas Jackson.

Then followed a mass altercation involving the majority of both of the two squads, with videos showing Jackson apparently slapping Forest defender Morato.’
