Football agent Alejandro Camano insists his client Mario Gila is happy with life at Lazio as he continues to grow from strength to strength.

The 24-year-old is a Real Madrid youth product who signed for the Biancocelesti in the summer of 2022 for €6 million in addition to a 50% sell-on fee. Despite a few injury problems at the start of the season, the Spaniard has now cemented himself as a pillar at the back for Marco Baroni’s team over the past few weeks, and even scored a goal in the losing effort against Fiorentina.

Gila Happy to Ply his Trade at Lazio

As Il Corriere dello Sport reports, the player’s agent revealed that Gila is enjoying his stint at Lazio, as he continues to evolve his game.

Nevertheless, the Roman newspaper notes that the two parties have yet to kickstart their talks over a new contract. The defender’s current deal is valid until June 2027, and earns him a net salary of circa €1 million.

But despite being one of the lowest earners on the club’s wage bill, Gila is in no hurry to renew his contract, but he and his agent will wait until the summer to open a dialogue with the Lazio management.
