Liverpool Prepare Special Welcome for Crystal Palace Amid Route Change

Safety First for Liverpool’s Premier League Celebration

Liverpool are preparing to lift the Premier League trophy at Anfield this Sunday, 25 May, when they host Crystal Palace in a 4pm kick-off. However, Merseyside Police, in coordination with the club, have confirmed that the home team coach will follow a new route to ensure public safety.

The decision to reroute the LFC team bus has been taken early to give supporters clarity. “The decision has been made early to use an alternative route into the stadium for this match based on safety reasons, because everyone’s safety continues to be the number one priority on matchday,” a club spokesperson said via Liverpool.com.

Revised Arrival Route to Anfield

Instead of the usual route, the Liverpool team bus will now approach Anfield via Arkles Lane at approximately 2.30pm. From there, it will pass through the iconic Shankly Gates and along the Anfield Road stand, with barriers in place and stewards and police providing guidance.

This change aims to preserve the matchday tradition of welcoming the players, while avoiding congestion and maintaining a secure environment. “Welcoming the team is an important part of the pre-match atmosphere, but to do this safely, the road into the stadium must be kept clear.”

Crystal Palace Await but Fans Remain the Focus

Crystal Palace arrive as final-day visitors, but all eyes will be on the celebrations awaiting Arne Slot’s side. With the Fan Zone on Anfield Road closed and additional road closures expected, fans are urged to plan ahead and follow guidance.

Supporters’ Role in a Safe Celebration

LFC’s safety team and Merseyside Police will manage the logistics, but fans are central to the occasion. “Please support the guidance from the police and stewards if asked to move to a safer position in order for the team bus to pass safely and arrive at the stadium in good time.”

This Sunday is set to be a momentous day for Liverpool. With Crystal Palace providing the final hurdle, the pre-match focus remains on unity, respect, and ensuring the champions get the celebration they deserve.
