Liverpool boss Arne Slot has revealed his reasons for rotating between Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas so far this season.
The Reds' left-back position was a dilemma that previous manager Jurgen Klopp never liked to choose between, with Robertson Liverpool's first-choice ahead of his shoulder injury in September 2023. During his spell on the sidelines, Greek star Tsimikas stepped up and impressed, offering two competent players on the left side of defence.
Both defenders have continued to perform under Slot, but the Dutchman is adamant that having options in this position does not create a 'dilemma' for his side.
"I wouldn't say a dilemma," he told reporters during Friday's press conference."There are other positions where we have rotated.

"It probably also has to do with Robbo's [Robertson's] pre-season. He had none, he came back injured from Euros he missed almost the complete pre-season.
"Kostas did really well in that period. That's why we started rotating at the start of it, if a player has missed pre-season he can't play three games in a row. That's the situation. It was good for him [Robertson] to play against Arsenal and Brighton. Made sure he is getting into the rhythm."
Liverpool are set to host Brighton & Hove Albion at Anfield on Saturday after defeating the Seagulls 3-2 in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday. The Reds have recorded seven wins from their opening nine league matches under Slot, sitting in second place behind reigning champions Manchester City.
