Arsenal and Spurs Considering Move to Sign £16m Bundesliga Midfielder

As summer nears, North London’s recruitment arms are gearing up for yet another battle—but this time, not on the pitch. According to BILD, both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs vying for the signature of Stuttgart midfielder Enzo Millot, whose form and modest release clause have made him one of Europe’s most intriguing transfer prospects.
Millot, 22, has flourished in the Bundesliga since moving from Monaco for around €1.5m in 2021. Now, after contributing eight goals and seven assists in his best statistical season yet, he looks poised to take the next step. That leap may well take him to the Premier League.
Crucially, Millot is available for a fee significantly below his market value. As BILD reports, he is “central to a bargain release clause of just under €20m (£16.8m), which is widely accepted to be well below the France Under-21 star’s true value.” In today’s inflated market, such pricing represents rare efficiency.
Millot’s intentions are no secret. When speaking at a press conference while on international duty, the Frenchman openly acknowledged his ambitions. “Of course, that’s a goal I have set for myself,” he said when asked about leaving Stuttgart in the summer.

However, he was equally clear about his appreciation for his current club: “I would be happy to remain with Stuttgart because of the club’s commitment to developing young players like myself.”
This balance of ambition and gratitude is perhaps part of what makes him so attractive to top-tier clubs. Both Arsenal and Spurs are known for integrating young, technically-gifted midfielders into their systems, and Millot would not arrive with the price tag or pressure of more marquee names.
At Arsenal, midfield upgrades are firmly on the summer agenda. Declan Rice’s arrival brought bite and control, but depth and variation remain concerns. BILD links the Gunners with Real Sociedad’s Martín Zubimendi and Newcastle’s Bruno Guimarães—yet both are significantly more expensive than Millot and could require a change in transfer strategy.
Tottenham, meanwhile, are searching for value after a disappointing season. Injuries have exposed their midfield fragility and with Champions League football looking unlikely, their recruitment may lean toward affordability over star power. Millot, as a progressive ball-carrier with an eye for goal, fits that mould.
With both clubs working within pragmatic parameters, Millot’s profile—dynamic, intelligent, and financially accessible—ticks several boxes.

While Arsenal and Spurs are reportedly frontrunners, they won’t be alone. Liverpool and Chelsea were credited with interest in January, and more clubs could yet enter the picture. Millot’s release clause makes him accessible, but the competition for his signature will be shaped by timing, clarity of vision, and most importantly—fit.
If either North London club wants to avoid missing out, they will need to move quickly and decisively. For once, it’s not just about who can spend more—it’s about who can promise more.
For Arsenal, Enzo Millot represents a refreshing blend of quality and value. With Zubimendi and Guimarães carrying hefty price tags, Millot would be a smart, lower-risk investment that allows more flexibility elsewhere in the squad. He brings goals, mobility and composure—three attributes Arteta often seeks in his advanced midfielders.
For Tottenham, the need for midfield reinforcements is glaring. James Maddison’s injury exposed the lack of creativity in deeper areas. Millot may not be a marquee arrival, but he carries the technical profile Ange Postecoglou can mould into his system. With a stretched budget and limited European income, these are the types of deals Spurs must get right.
Ultimately, Millot may not define either club’s summer—but he could enhance it in ways that matter. He’s young, hungry and available. And in a market full of overpriced stars, that might just make him one of the smartest moves of the window.
