Arsenal are interested in Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Matheus Cunha as part of their quest to replace the injured Bukayo Saka, a report has revealed.
Saka went down with a hamstring injury, believed to be a tear, which manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed will keep him out for "many weeks". A formal recovery timeline has not been made public but there are fears Saka could miss up to three months, while there were even fears he may have suffered a season-ending injury.
With Raheem Sterling also going down with an injury in training, Arteta recently confessed Arsenal may need to look to the transfer market for reinforcements.
According to The Telegraph, one such signing could be Cunha, who has played his way on to the radars of a number of elite sides this season.
The 25-year-old, who saw a two-year loan with Wolves made permanent for £44m in 2023, has ten goals and four assists from 18 games this season and even scored directly from a corner in Thursday's 2-0 win over Manchester United.
His dazzling form has caught Arsenal's eye and Wolves are now bracing themselves for bids while they scramble to try and convince Cunha to extend his stay at Molineux.
Wolves, who sit 17th in the Premier League standings, are prepared to demand a huge sum to part ways with Cunha in January while they remain in a real fight to avoid relegation - the sort of fee which may render a winter transfer impossible for even the richest of sides.
