One former Chelsea player has declared that Chelsea can win the the Premier League next season and that Arsenal will bottle it.

The Blues beat Leicester City 1-0 in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon in what was a vital three points in the race for Champions League spots.

It didn’t look like it was going to be Chelsea’s day after Cole Palmer missed a first half penalty when most of us would of put our houses on him scoring it.

Enzo Maresca was very pleased with the three points but he did once again threaten to take off one of his players if they went against his passing tactics.

All in all though it was a good afternoon for Chelsea as they firmly put themselves back in to fourth place in the Premier League.

This season might be gone for Chelsea in terms of the title, but John Obi Mikel believes they can compete for it next season under one condition.

Chelsea need world class signings

Mikel says Arsenal will bottle it again next season but Chelsea will be competing for the title, just as long as they make some world class signings.

Speaking on his latest Podcast show, Mikel said:

“If we get world class signings in the summer, a striker, goalkeeper etc, then I see us competing to win the Premier League title. Arsenal won’t win it, they’ll bottle it like they always do.”

I tend to agree with what he is saying here as well. I think if Chelsea address the spine of the team and make at least three elite signings in it, then there is no reason that they cannot compete to win the title next season.
