Arsenal will ‘carry on fighting’ as Liverpool run away with Premier League title

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says they will continue fighting to win every game even as the Premier League title slips out of view.
The Gunners dropped more points at the weekend, drawing 1-1 with Manchester United at Old Trafford, leaving them 15 points behind leaders Liverpool, who beat Southampton 3-1 at home.
Having exited both domestics cups this season, the Uefa Champions League remains their only realistic chance of winning a major trophy this season.
The north London outfit already look set to reach the quarter-finals after beating PSV Eindhoven in the first leg of their round of 16 tie. Provided they don’t capitulate on Wednesday night, Atletico Madrid or Real Madrid await them in the next round.
Arteta may choose to rest his regular starters in the Premier League to focus on Europe, but the Arsenal boss says his side are not going to let up on the domestic front even with the title seemingly out of reach.
“We are going to carry on fighting to win every game,” Arteta said at his pre-match press conference on Wednesday.
“There are the demands we put on ourselves in every competition, we are very much conscious that the demands for this football club are to reach the highest level and to win football matches.
“There’s always improvement, we have talked about what we can do better, it’s about execution. My job is to give the players as many tools so we can deliver again.”
