Aston Villa have reportedly agreed a loan deal to sign Chelsea centre-back Axel Disasi for the remainder of the season.
It emerged late last month that Disasi, who has fallen down the pecking order under Blues boss Enzo Maresca, had agreed personal terms with Aston Villa as he eyed a late loan move to join up with Unai Emery.
Chelsea, however, initially blocked the move as they did not want to bolster a team they view as direct competition for a spot in the Premier League's top four. Instead, they accepted a loan offer from struggling Tottenham Hotspur, only for Disasi to reject the move.
Spurs continued to try and convince Disasi late on deadline day, but Matt Law revealed Villa had finally managed to strike an agreement with Chelsea to sign the 26-year-old on loan.
Villa have agreed to pay a loan fee of around £5m for Disasi, who will become one of many Chelsea players to seal late loans away from the club.
Carney Chukwuemeka has joined Borussia Dortmund on loan until the end of the season, while Joao Felix is due to join AC Milan. Left-back Ben Chilwell is nearing a temporary switch to Crystal Palace and young striker Deivid Washington is expected to return to Santos.
