With the arrival of the month of May, the end of the 2024-25 season is already in sight. However, FC Barcelona are still engaged in the fight for two big titles, i.e., La Liga and the UEFA Champions League.

However, their involvement in these two title fights is not keeping them from planning to reinforce the team in the upcoming summer transfer window. In fact, the Catalans have been linked with several players to strengthen some of their weaker areas for months.

Luis Diaz linked with Barcelona

One area that has generated a lot of speculation is the left wing. Several high-profile players have been linked with the Blaugrana side to reinforce this area, one of them being the Liverpool forward Luis Diaz.

The Colombian winger had not enjoyed a starting spot in some phases of the season, which caused him to be linked with a move away from Anfield. In fact, Deco had very good reports on the footballer, and the winger’s entourage also showed their willingness to join the Catalan side.

Colombian Winger now expected to renew with Liverpool

However, according to SPORT, the Luis Diaz is now not going to leave Liverpool to join the Blaugranes.

This is particularly so as the Merseyside club has already won the Premier League title, and its attentions are now fully concentrated on completing the renewals of some of their most important players.

Arne Slot had asked his club to make an effort to retain the core of his Premier League-winning team, and by the looks of it, the Dutch coach’s wishes are being granted.

Thus, after several months of impasse, talks have resumed between the €85 million-rated Colombian star and the English club. For now, these negotiations are quite on track, and an agreement is expected after the end of the season.

In addition to Barcelona, two Saudi sides, Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr, were also linked with the South American forward, and were reportedly willing to spend up to €100 million on him. Thus, these involved clubs would not be too excited about this change in the status of Luis Diaz.
