There is no denying the fact that this season has been an exhausting one for FC Barcelona so far. For the Catalan giants, each game presents its own unique challenges and hurdles to deal with as well. Fortunately, however, Barcelona have proven that they can take on any obstacle.

Even the latest game against SL Benfica, for instance, clearly showcased the extreme demands that certain matches can bring. Still, through grit and a pure desire to win, Barcelona emerged victorious and ended up coming away with a 1-0 victory.

However, it was not all sunshine and rainbows for La Blaugrana. Beyond just the red card that Pau Cubarsi conceded, Spanish left-back Alejandro Balde also reportedly took a rather hard knock to his ankle. While his participation for the upcoming game against CA Osasuna is not completely ruled out, it does seem uncertain right now.

Moreover, in light of the huge effort put in by the Barcelona players during that game in which they were down to ten players, rotations for the upcoming game seemed plausible. As per Mundo Deportivo, that is exactly what Hansi Flick will be going for in the upcoming game against Osasuna.

Balde’s uncertain condition makes it likely that Gerard Martin could end up starting. With a solid performance in his last game against Real Sociedad, the Spaniard has what it takes to hold his own and his contract renewal showcases the trust that the club has in him as well.

Over in the centre of the defense, Pau Cubarsi and Eric Garcia could start together. After having been sent off against Benfica, Cubarsi could start this game as he knows for sure he will be missing the match right after it. Garcia, on the other hand, could be deployed to give both Inigo Martinez and Ronald Araujo some rest as well.

Pedri, on the other hand, will likely be rested as well considering the exhausting performance he had to put up against Benfica. In his stead, the likes of Gavi, Fermin Lopez, or even Marc Casado could end up getting opportunities as well as per Flick’s selection choices.

Even Ferran Torres, who had a small role against Benfica in the last game, could end up starting to give any one regular forward some rest as well. Ultimately, Hansi Flick has some big decisions to make, and Barcelona know that they cannot afford to lose in La Liga in light of just how close the title race is.
