Barcelona learn Fermín López’s punishment for red card against Sevilla | OneFootball

Barcelona put in a great performance on Sunday evening as they beat Sevilla in a convincing 4-1 win away from home.

Despite a great performance, one negative to come from the match for Barcelona was the red card their midfielder Fermín López received in the 62nd minute of the clash.

The challenge on Djibril Sow was initially given a yellow but was later changed to a red following a check by VAR.

As per Mundo Deportivo, the red card was given for violent conduct and therefore will come with a one-match ban for Fermín in La Liga.

As a result, Fermín will miss Barcelona’s clash against Rayo Vallecano at home, which is set to take place next Monday evening, the 17th of February at 8 pm UK time.

The match will be crucial for Hansi Flick’s men, as they are chasing the top of the table with the club currently two points behind Real Madrid and just one point behind Atlético Madrid.
