Barcelona legend aims brutal dig at Real Madrid after 4-0 hammering | OneFootball

Saturday night was one to rejoice for FC Barcelona as they hammered arch-rivals Real Madrid 4-0 in their own backyard at the Santiago Bernabeu to extend their lead at the top of La Liga.

It was an absolute dominant display from the Blaugrana in the second half as they tore Carlo Ancelotti’s team to shreds with goals coming from Robert Lewandowski (2), Lamine Yamal, and Raphinha.

Following the resounding victory at the Santiago Bernabeu, former Barcelona captain and club legend Gerard Pique took to ‘X’ to fire shots at Real Madrid and celebrate the Catalans’ victory.

The legendary former defender, never one to shy away from his opinions, wrote on social media:

“We are unique, they will never be like us. With all the youngsters from La Masia. What a masterclass. What pride.”

The win was indeed one the Blaugrana can be very proud of, considering how they played and the fact that La Masia dominated a star-studded, expensively assembled Real Madrid side.

Two 17-year-old academy graduates in Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi put in outstanding displays at both ends of the pitch while Marc Casado and Alejandro Balde were brilliant too. Inaki Pena came up clutch in goal, denying Kylian Mbappe on several occasions.

The win, coming only days after Barcelona thrashed Bayern Munich 4-1 in the UEFA Champions League, goes on to indicate how things are headed in the right direction under the management of Hansi Flick.
