FC Barcelona have four of their players playing away on loan this season, but one player whose development they will be monitoring with the most keenness is Vitor Roque.
Although the Brazilian striker was unable to meet the expectations after landing at the Blaugrana club about a year ago, he still remains a highly promising player for the future, especially given his performances on loan at Real Betis during the first half of the season.
Roque joined the Los Verdiblancos on loan in the last summer transfer window, and the Seville club has the option to buy him either in the upcoming summer for €25 million or in the summer of 2026 for €27.5 million.
However, as Mundo Deportivo has reported, the chances of his stay at Real Betis have significantly lowered in the last few days, as they signed the Colombian striker Cucho Hernandez in the recently closed winter transfer window for €13 million fixed and €1 million in variables, with a contract going till 2030.

Thus, the Verdiblancos are now unlikely to exercise the purchase option on the Barcelona loanee, but they will still have the option to extend his loan for another year and then exercise the purchase option in 2026.
In fact, when asked whether Cucho Hernández’s arrival would impact Roque’s future at the club, Real Betis President Ángel Haro responded:
“It’s still too early to say. We need to have confidence in Vitor and see how he finishes the season. We have an open possibility, and if both parties agree on his continuity… but it’s still early. It’s true that we needed more goals in general, not just from a specific striker. Now he has another teammate to compete with.”
