FC Barcelona put in a spirited fight in the UEFA Champions League semi-final tie against Inter Milan but still came up short and were eliminated. After a 3-3 draw in the first leg, the Nerazzurri won the second leg with a 4-3 scoreline and thus made their way to the final.

Despite some important absences, the Catalans fought till the very end, and several players impressed with their individual performances. On the other hand, some other players came up short of their expectations and have been facing a lot of criticism.

Barcelona lower asking price for Ronald Araujo

One such player in the latter category is the defender Ronald Araujo, whose mistakes led to the last two goals scored by Inter.

This latest performance makes the Uruguayan defender’s already uncertain future at Barcelona even more uncertain, and he is once again being strongly linked with an exit.

In this context, a report from Fichajes claims that Barcelona have now decided to lower their demands for the centre-back and to start listening to offers starting from €50 million.

Three big clubs interested

Three big European clubs have already shown an interest in the Barcelona captain, i.e., Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and Juventus.

The Premier League side has shown the greatest willingness to procure the defender, and they are reportedly ready to make a big offer for Araujo as they see him as an ideal solution to reinforce their weak defence.

Meanwhile, Juventus continues to monitor the Uruguayan’s situation, and Bayern Munich is looking to make a smaller offer for him.

Barcelona has not ruled out his departure and understand that a big sale would not only help them financially but is now also imperative from a sporting point of view.

Now, it remains to be seen which of these interested clubs makes an actual offer for Ronald Araujo and whether this offer satisfies the defender enough to pack his bags and embark on another adventure.
