The brass at La Liga giants Barcelona intend to kick back into gear negotiations with a long-time transfer target this coming summer.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Nico Williams as the player in question.
The name of wide-man Williams, of course, took its place front and centre in the media headlines throughout last summer’s transfer window.
This came with the 22-year-old’s continued excellence for club and country alike having sparked widespread interest in his signature.
Barcelona, for one, pushed hard to bring Nico in for much of the summer, eager to unite the Spanish international with close friend Lamine Yamal.
At one point during the window, the transfer, in fact, was labelled essentially a formality.
In the end, an agreement could not be found, though, with Nico having therefore stayed put in the Basque Country with Athletic Club.
But if the latest word stemming from the media this week is anything to go by, then as much did not prove enough to bring an end to Barca’s pursuit…
As per a report from Sport:
‘Nico Williams is a player who has the approval of Hansi Flick and who, in addition, convinces Joan Laporta. FC Barcelona’s intention is to restart talks with the player soon.’
