Barcelona have set a specific condition that Neymar must meet if he wants to return to the club.

According to SPORT, the Catalan giants have informed the Brazilian forward that he needs to score at least 15 goals for Santos before they even consider signing him.

“Score 15 goals with Santos, and we’ll consider signing you,” they say from Barcelona.

This condition reflects the club’s cautious approach as they evaluate whether he can regain his best form before making any decisions about his potential return.

Neymar wants to return

Neymar has never hidden his desire to wear the Barcelona shirt again. His name has once again surfaced in discussions about the club, primarily because of his ability to keep himself in the media spotlight.

While the possibility of him playing at the newly renovated Spotify Camp Nou remains uncertain, Barcelona’s management is clear that he must prove himself before they entertain any negotiations.

There are two key reasons behind Neymar’s interest in rejoining Barcelona. Firstly, he sees it as an opportunity to prove himself once again at the highest level, especially after the challenges he has faced in recent years.

Secondly, the 33-year-old forward might view Barcelona’s expectations as the perfect motivation to get back in top shape ahead of the 2026 World Cup, where he will be 34 years old.

A strong run with Santos could be the ideal preparation for that stage of his career.

What is Barcelona’s take?

Barcelona, however, are in no rush to bring Neymar back. The club’s leadership wants to assess his physical and technical condition during the European summer before making any decision.

They remain unconvinced that he can return to being the dynamic and dominant player he once was.

As of now, there have been no formal negotiations between Neymar’s representatives and the club. If talks were to take place, Deco would be his main point of contact at Barcelona.

Even if Neymar meets the club’s conditions, his return is far from guaranteed. Financial constraints could make it difficult to accommodate his wages within Barcelona’s budget.

With the club already managing a complex salary structure, it remains unclear whether they will have the flexibility to offer him a contract next season.
