A head-turning statistic, highlighting the ongoing excellence of Barcelona starlet Marc Casadó across the season to date, has come to the fore online.
This comes owing to his exploits in the club’s most recent outing.
Youngster Casadó, for his part, was made use of from the off once more on Sunday, as Barcelona locked horns with Real Madrid in the finale of the Spanish Super Cup.
And, featuring from his customary berth at the base of midfield, the 21-year-old, again, went on to thoroughly impress.
After suffering an early mishap in playing a direct hand in the opener netted by Real Madrid, Casadó quickly dusted himself down, regaining his composure to shine on both sides of the ball across the 90 minutes.
The highlight of his evening came early in the 2nd-half, when the Spanish international laid on his side’s 5th goal, courtesy of a fine pass for Raphinha.
And it was precisely this action which has since given rise to a remarkable statistic.
Casadó, with six to his name, has now racked up at least twice as many assists as any other member of Barcelona’s midfield this season – Pedri has three, as does Pablo Torre.
From relative unknown heading into the new season to establishing himself as a leading creator in Hansi Flick’s engine room, Casadó’s ongoing praise has been well earned.
