Barcelona star reveals surprise contract offer after Real Madrid clash | OneFootball

Barcelona star Wojciech Szczęsny has confirmed that he has received a contract renewal offer on the part of the club’s board.

Not only that, but the Pole has been afforded the chance to stay put in Catalunya’s capital for the next two seasons.

The subject of Szczęsny’s future has of course proven a prominent talking point in the headlines in Barcelona over the course of recent weeks.

This comes after confirmation was forthcoming that the former Arsenal and Juventus man – brought in as emergency cover late last year – had done enough to convince Hansi Flick and the Blaugrana coaching staff of his readiness to contribute through the summer and beyond.

The understanding, in turn, was that Szczęsny was set to be offered a one-year contract extension proposal.

As alluded to above, however, the shot-stopper himself has since revealed an even more prolonged offer of commitment on the part of Deco and co.

Speaking to the media after playing his part in Barcelona’s La Liga victory over arch rivals Real Madrid, the 35-year-old explained:

“My future? I won’t hide that I’ve received a two-year contract extension offer from the club. But I need to decide with my family what’s best for us.”
