The brass at La Liga giants Barcelona intend to reward star attacker Raphinha for his form across the season to date.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Friday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.

Wide-man Raphinha is for his part of course in the midst of nothing short of a spectacular campaign to date with Barcelona.

After finding the net twice en route to the Blaugrana’s 5-4 Champions League downing of Benfica on Tuesday night, the Brazilian took his tally to a hefty 31 direct goal contributions across all competitions.

And such endeavours, evidently, have not gone unappreciated in the boardroom at the Camp Nou.

This comes amid confirmation on the part of MD that the plan at Barca is to sit down for contract renewal negotiations with Raphinha and his entourage this year.

The former Leeds United man is due to see his current terms expire in the summer of 2027.

Eager to stay put in Catalunya for the long-term, though, few issues are foreseen in talks between the parties regarding an extension.
