As reported by Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona youth team prodigy Jofre Torrents is expected to be given multiple chances by Hansi Flick during the club’s upcoming pre-season tour in Asia.
The talented youngster has just signed a contract extension with the club until 2028, and the technical staff are already preparing a tailored development plan to help him reach his full potential.
Barça see Torrents as one of the brightest prospects in La Masia. Sources inside the club say his technical quality, pace, and attacking threat from defence make him a rare talent.
Despite suffering a major knee injury in 2023, Torrents has bounced back strongly, and the belief in him remains unchanged. He has already trained alongside some of the club’s most promising names, and now it’s his turn to shine.

With the left-back position in the senior squad covered by Alejandro Balde and Gerard Martin, there is no pressure on Jofre to break into the first team immediately. But that does not mean the club is not watching him closely.
In fact, that low-profile approach is part of a plan. Several big European clubs had shown interest in him, so Barça moved quietly to renew his deal and keep him under the radar.
Flick is now expected to include the 18-year-old in the pre-season squad for the trip to South Korea and Japan. There, the manager will assess his qualities and give him valuable minutes.
The coaching staff are also preparing a physical development plan to help him add muscle, something they have already done successfully with both Pau Cubarsi and Lamine Yamal.
Torrents might not be a household name yet, but his time could come soon. If his quality matches the hype inside the club, it is only a matter of when, not if, he makes the leap to the senior team. For now, all eyes will be on him this summer.
