The first half was a smooth sailing for Die Roten as they had taken a well-deserved lead through a Harry Kane goal and kept Freiburg attackers quiet. Kim Min-jae extended the lead for the Rekordmeister in the second half but it didn't take long for Freiburg to come back in the game as Matthias Ginter headed in a goal through a corner kick in the 68th minute. The rest of the game was a test of Bayern's defensive resilience as they had to work their socks off to prevent a comeback from a motivated Freiburg side.
