Real Betis director Manu Fajardo has said the club will do ‘everything possible’ to sign Antony from Manchester United this summer.
Antony has excelled at the Spanish side since arriving on loan at Betis in the January transfer window. The Brazil international has four goals and two assists in 13 appearances across all competitions and has been a major part of the club’s improved form.
Betis are unbeaten in seven La Liga games, winning six, and held leaders Barcelona to a draw at the weekend. Manuel Pellegrini’s side are up to sixth in the table and just six points from the top four. Currently, Spain could be allocated an additional place in next season’s Champions League and Betis are level on points with fifth-placed Villarreal.
Fajardo has been delighted with Antony’s impact and said Betis are determined to sign the winger on a permanent deal. Manchester United are believed to value the 24-year-old at around £40m, a fee that would represent a club-record deal for the La Liga outfit. However, Fajardo insisted his side will do ‘everything possible’ to secure a deal.
“We go try in different ways do everything possible we fit do to keep Antony next season,” Fajardo said, as per Fabrizio Romano.
“We’re proud of what we achieved by signing Antony and bringing him at Betis.”
