Cagliari defender Yerry Mina has returned to fitness in time for today’s Serie A match against Inter Milan.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Cagliari host Inter in Serie A this evening. And it will be a match with big ramifications at both ends of the table.
For the Nerazzurri, of course, there is massive pressure to take three points amid a fierce title race with the likes of Atalanta and Napoli among others.
But for Cagliari, a result would be key for their hopes of Serie A survival.
At the moment, the Rossoblu sit in the relegation zone. They have lost their last four matches.
However, there is a sense that the Sardinians’ performances have warranted far more than they’ve gotten over that stretch.
One of Cagliari’s key players this season has been 30-year-old Colombian international Yerry Mina.
Mina joined the Rossoblu in January of this year from Fiorentina.
And both under Claudio Ranieri, and particularly under Davide Nicola this season, Mina has established himself as a real rock at the back.
Therefore, the possibility of missing Mina through injury for this evening’s match came as a real blow for Cagliari.
However, reports the Corriere, the former Barcelona and Everton defender has returned to fitness. He’ll be in the starting eleven.
