Billy Sharp has signed a new one-year deal with Doncaster Rovers, keeping him at the club as they return to League One.
The 39-year-old, now in his fourth spell with the South Yorkshire side, scored 12 goals in 51 appearances last season as Rovers lifted the League Two title.
The new contract means Sharp will continue playing past his 40th birthday, which comes in February.
Only Ian Henderson (123), Will Grigg (116), Jonson Clarke-Harris (115), Paddy Madden (115), Jermaine Beckford (107), John Marquis (101), and Billy Sharp (104) have hit that milestone over the past two decades.
Sharp notched those 104 goals in just four League One seasons (two with Scunthorpe and two with Sheffield United) and played a key role in the Blades’ promotion to the Championship in 2016/17.
Now, with Rovers back in the third tier, Sharp has the chance to push that total even higher.
