Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz is open to joining Manchester United during the winter transfer window, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.
The Brazil international signed for the Bianconeri from Aston Villa for £42 million last summer, but he has played less than 500 minutes this term.
This has sparked speculation regarding his future. His agent, Gianmaria Montesano, is likely to meet him soon in Turin.
Luiz will only leave the Bianconeri for a top-level Premier League club such as United or Manchester City.
He is unconvinced over the prospect of joining Fulham or Nottingham Forest this winter.
The 26-year-old had an exceptional 2023/24 season with Villa. He bagged 10 goals and 10 assists from 53 games in all competitions.
Luiz impressed from the central and defensive midfield roles for the Midlands outfit. He would be a brilliant acquisition for United.
However, a move is unlikely to happen unless the club can part ways with Casemiro during the ongoing transfer window.
Casemiro has fallen out of favour under manager Ruben Amorim, and he was an unused substitute against Arsenal on Sunday.
Amorim preferred to play Toby Collyer over Casemiro, which indicates the door is open for him to leave the club.
Casemiro has been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League. If he were to leave, United could recoup funds and save plenty of wages.
They could explore a loan deal for Luiz with an option to buy at the end of the season.
