Brentford B will compete in the 2025 Atlantic Cup in February as Neil MacFarlane’s young Bees head out to the south of Portugal to test themselves against quality opposition.

This will be the third year that the side have entered the competition in the Algarve and once again they’re set for some brilliant tests as part of their development.

The Atlantic Cup is a mid-season tournament which takes place every year in Portugal. It consists of teams from across Europe as well as the rest of the world who act to use the tournament to maintain competitive matches when their league campaigns are not running.

In 2023 the B team played three matches in the competition against K League 1 side Ulsan, Swedish side AIK, as well as another Swedish top division outfit in Halmstads.

This year the young Bees will test themselves against Portuguese opposition in C.D. Mafra Under-23s as well as two first teams from the Swedish top division in IFK Göteborg and IFK Värnamo.

Also taking part in the competition this year are Brøndby IF, Rosenborg BK and FC Dallas.

When the young Bees last travelled to the Atlantic Cup in 2023 it was a fantastic learning curve for the side who ended the competition with a win, draw and a defeat to their name.
