Canadian international wingback Buchanan is now more than a year into his Nerazzurri tenure.

Inter signed Buchanan from Club Brugge last January transfer window.

The Canadian has made a grand total of one start for the Nerazzurri during that time. That came against Udinese in the Coppa Italia in December.

Meanwhile, Buchanan has had some appearances off the bench here and there for Inter. However, he has hardly been a regular, particularly in important matches.

Moreover, Buchanan’s progress was very much interrupted by a serious injury. He broke his leg in training during the Copa America last summer, ruling him out for several months at the start of this season.

Naturally, Buchanan is far from happy with his current situation.

The 25-year-old would like the opportunity to play more. But with the likes of Federico Dimarco, Denzel Dumfries, Carlos Augusto, and Matteo Darmian for competition, that will be tough at Inter.

Accordingly, Buchanan could leave the Nerazzurri on loan this month. A loan would be one possibility.

The Gazzetta report that Buchanan is indeed hoping for a move away.

However, the newspaper continue, the Canadian international has not handed in a transfer request.

Therefore, Buchanan has yet to really move towards the exit door.

However, in the final week or so of the January window, something could certainly change.
