This will be Clancy’s fifth Celtic match this season

The 41 year-old experienced official has refereed Celtic on four occasions this season with Brendan Rodgers’ side winning in each of those four games.

His most recent outing at Celtic Park was in early January where the Hoops overcame Dundee United 2-0 in minus conditions courtesy of strikes from Daizen Maeda and Reo Hatate.

Clancy booked Brendan Rodgers in November in the Premier Sports League Cup encounter versus Aberdeen after the Irishman booted the ball onto the pitch whilst slipping in frustration.

Celtic target a third win of season over Hearts

Meanwhile, Celtic will be aiming for their third victory over the Jambos this campaign. The last time the two sides met was in November with the Scottish champions running out 4-1 winners at Tynecastle.

Since then, Neil Critchley’s men have propelled up the table, and are only five points off rivals Hibernian who occupy third position in the tightly-congested table.

However, Hearts will also be looking over their shoulder. Motherwell are one point adrift of the Jambos who sit in sixth spot with three matches to go prior to the split beginning next month.

Greg Aitken on VAR, Alan Muir still on the naughty step at the SFA

Greg Aitken on VAR and still no sign of Alan Muir returning after his Easter Road guess

Joining Clancy on-field is assistants Ross Macleod and David Roome. Manning VAR duties at Clydesdale House is Greg Aitken with Chris Rae being appointed to AVAR. There’s no role in the Scottish Premiership fixtures this weekend for Easter Road guesser Alan Muir who continues to be paid for doing nothing at all. His position is surely untenable and he should be removed from VAR operations at the end of the season.
